A MOTHER’S IMPACT
A Mother’s Impact is a photo series to tell mother’s everywhere, “Yes Moms, Your Sons are Listening.” Not only do they hear your words of wisdom as children, but they they take root and shape who they become as men.
As Graham’s mom, I’m pleased that my advice has stuck with him to always “Work hard” so no matter what happens, at least you know you did your best.
William remembers that his mother says that no matter what, “Always be nice” because nice matters. He specifically remembered to add the always.
Jack hears his mom’s voice telling him that it doesn’t matter if you win or lose, “Just do your best.”
Jordan remembers his mom’s advice to “Never give up” on the ice hockey rink, or in life.
Ethan’s mom reminds him that in life, it’s important to “Have fun.”
Jake lives his life according to his mom’s advice, giving it everything he’s got.
Jed remembers that his mom tells him how important it is to “Keep smiling” since smiling is a way to be healthier, helps you stay positive and is contagious. When you smile, the world smiles with you.
Christian is sometimes cautious about new things. His mother encourages him to “Always try” even when you are afraid. He is listening, and trying, even when he is afraid.
And as Men…
Michael’s mother shared her desire for him to focus on the simple, important things in life. They shared a love for Lynyrd Skynyrd’s lyrics which said to “Be a simple kind of man.”
Even now as he plays professional football, David remains true to his mother’s words. To him, “Be the best you” means set meaningful goals, work hard, be gracious to everyone and help others along the way. It also means starting a foundation and a movement called OHGI which stands for “Out here gettin’ it.”- A mantra for people who work hard toward their goals no matter where they are in life.
As he left his dairy farm in upstate New York to pursue an acting and modeling career in New York City, Derek’s mother reminded him to “Remember your roots.”
Brett remembers getting out of chores by bribing him mom with popcorn and footrubs. These were special moments spent together that will stay with him for a lifetime. As his acting career takes off, in tv shows and movies, like playing the body of young Arnold in the new Terminator Genisys movie, Brett makes sure he still makes time for special moments with loved ones.
Justin laughs when remembering his mother’s voice in response to someone complimenting. She would say, “You get it from your momma.” It became an inside joke and part of a special, lasting bond.
Ryan’s mother was always very health conscious. When he was younger he remembers it was always “Veggies first” before indulging in anything else. Ryan is now in the fitness industry, and his mother’s words have stuck with him and shaped his daily life.
Even to this day, Chris’s mother ends every call with “How much do I love you?”, a constant reminder that a mother’s love is limitless.
Damian remembers that above all else, “Honestly counts” and he credits his mother for embedding these values in him.
