I recently did a photo story on a Yogi both in her home practice and at one of the studios where she teaches Yoga, Baker Street Yoga in Maplewood, NJ. Dana Cilento Murphy doesn’t just teach yoga, she embodies it. Learn more about Dana.

First, she welcomed me into her home so I could learn more about her spirituality and home practice. She has an entire area set up for this daily practice. Her dog even knows the routine and gets in on the action. She showed me her spiritual practice and then shared with me some of her physical yoga routines. I enjoyed peeking into her world and learning how this has transformed her life over the years.

We met on a separate day at the Yoga studio where I watched her interact with her students. It was remarkable watching her transform their time together into focused, healing, and strengthening energy. It wasn’t about fancy moves – though I found myself wanting to see if I could do any of the things they were doing without falling! It was more about emoting, focusing, calming and anything else that makes you leave feeling exhausted and invigorated spiritually and physically. It was great to watch the class and capture the intimacy between this fabulous Yogi and her students.
